"I am the leader of the Downstream Process Development group in Lonza Braine, recognized as world leader in custom manufacturing of peptides. The goal of our team is to develop the best downstream processes (purification and isolation steps) including its validation in order to meet the high quality standard of the peptide active ingredients. Also, transfer of the process to our manufacturing colleagues and deliver the best service to our customer is a major task.
In Lonza, process development is really crucial and motivating because innovation, creativity, entrepreneurial spirit are really part of our culture. Investment in technology but also development of its employees is a priority at Lonza.
The development department is made stronger through continuous interaction with all actors of the development teams and also with our colleagues of other departments. Each new project is a new challenge making our job very diversified.

Training of our Employees

Because the people are a center of interest within Lonza, we provide the employees with technical training as well as soft skills training (people management, communication, presentation skills, etc). Through the annual formal performance review, we collect all the useful data to provide the adequate training to develop our people.
In addition to the formal academic approach, we have a “learning by doing approach” where we give our employees the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge by exposing them to the appropriate environment. Leading a project, being the facilitator of a meeting, guiding a customer are some examples of how the individual can gain experience for his/her development! We also believe in empowering people to maximize their own talent
We encourage our managers to identify the talents within their teams and elect them to determine their own structured development plan. |

Our site of Braine is very well located near Brussels, the Heart of Europe and with easy access to other European capitals such as Paris, Amsterdam and London.
Belgium is a multi- cultural, multi-lingual society with a strong culture and heritage. Belgian people are known to be quick to welcome foreigners from all over the world.
English is spoken widely and particularly in the “Brabant Wallon” in towns like the famous Waterloo.
It will be a real pleasure to discover Brussels and its restaurants, which are well-known throughout Europe, as well as its museums and theatres.
